Aids is a punishment from God

This is a video as part of my vLog DjTjsays.  This episode I discuss Aids as a punishment from God rather that a virus that we have yet to find a cure for.  Listen to my thoughts and leave your own.

I have spoken.  Lol,

  1. False…Check your facts.

First: A plague is a specific bacterial infection. Not a viral one. And it’s typically spread by rodents and fleas.

Second: This might sound a little ironic, but the “plague” that you speak of, has evolved into a natural defense mechanism against HIV. It’s called a Delta 32 mutation. It’s traced back to a small village in Europe, where people the survived the plague and actually passed it on to their future generations. The same mutation now acts as a defense mechanism against the HIV infection in a LARGE amount of caucasians of european decent.. As in- you have the mutation, you don’t get infected with HIV.

Third: You are wrong about a cure. No, there might not be a cure for everyone or anyone. And you should probably be careful how you use the term “cure”. There aren’t typically “cures” for people that are already infected by any/most viruses. There are “preventions” for those that don’t have it and there are “prophylactics” from those that maintain it… (Ex. Magic Johnson). Educated yourself on HIV and AIDS before you try to differentiate and mumble your way through an explanation about how they are the same. HIV turns into AIDs once a certain threshold of virus is reached in a person’s body. Certain people never reach that threshold because of viral kinetics and natural defense mechanisms… (Once again.. Magic Johnson).

And just an additional little tidbit, “disease” (not plague) is defeated by a lot of natural evolutionary changes and counter illnesses. Example: People with sickle anemia have natural defense mechanisms against Malaria and they prevail in the same area. I could argue that God protects people from “disease.”

Disease is awful, regardless. It’s unfortunate that there is such a large amount of transmission from sources that can’t be helped (like mother to child). There is also a phenomenon called “antibody enhancement”, when can actually increase the acute nature of disease and viral infections. (I’m just stating this to be unbiased). But being hopeful is the only thing we can do as human beings. The rest is up to God, and that is a plan that we know nothing about.

    • What does this entire response have to do with what I said? Regardless of the mechanics of diseases and plauges (which I don’t recall talking about plauges) I simply stated that this particular disease is a punishment from God. Maybe I should say a punishment to humanity in general and not each individual that contracts it.
I mean with this logic, I would then have to turn around and say that God flooding the water wasn’t a punishment at all… it was just a really bad natural disaster and luckily Noah and 2 animals of each kind got on an Ark and survived. ??

      • Actually.. You start by saying “We are going to talk about plagues”, and the title of your video is “Aids is a punishment from God”.. by the way.. it’s AIDs (it’s an acronym). Your video has to do with science because you are trying to weave a specific illness into a topic that is broad…and you have no conclusion. Additionally, you are giving incorrect facts to back it up. You shouldn’t talk about it, if you don’t have a clue what you are saying. And what is the point of your video as a christian.. God uses AIDs as a punishment for what? What is he punishing us for? If God died for our sins, why would he punish us by killing us off? Isn’t that what judgement day is for? Maybe it’s just another form of “when it’s your time to check out…this is how you’re going to go”. You use the word “cure”, and anyone that has a general understanding of seasonal “flu” or “cold” bugs, knows that you can’t cure them. But if you are approaching it from that angle, I would argue that you are contradicting yourself because a lot of things aren’t “curable” and a lot of people still live (like flu, colds etc.)… including HIV patients. In fact, the rate of living from something that doesn’t have a “cure” overshadows dying from an incurable disease. God creates humans. Cellular diversity is the reason that HIV research has such large hurdles, ironically- it’s also the reason that people survive diseases, don’t get infected… or die from natural causes before the disease gets to them. I might even dare say that the ability of individuals to resiliently withstand HIV, is “natural selection.” Weeding out the weak ones. I mean, think about it.. Do you actually know how resilient the body is to HIV? Most people get infected after multiple exposures. Some aren’t so lucky. And again, look up the mass Thailand trials. There is success in the vaccines, so your point for not finding something to prevent the disease is irrelevant.

Noah’s Ark? You could take the hundreds of examples in the bible and say that God is pulling wrath on us. But, I could also say that putting two of each animal on a boat with humans was a means to procreation and re-expansion of a population that was already sinful. Sin is present because of Adam and Eve. It’s not going to go away (as long as the world is still in tact), so abolishing people doesn’t really change anything. I could also argue that Noah’s Ark was another form of natural selection.

Point blank, it’s silly to post a topic on the worldwide web about a very specific disease when you make it obvious that you have no clue about the opposing side.. And when you are talking about a topic as controversial and as hurtful as HIV/AIDs, you need to be educated before you start to argue. Those of us that actually spend time with patients, try to find relief for them. It’s heartbreaking. I doubt (from your post) that you spend your time with patients who have infectious diseases, at all.. let alone HIV. Practice what your preach. Some of us believe in God and “helping one another” instead of sitting in front of a camera and discouraging the people that dedicate their lives to hope. If it was your child, you’d want the same. The bible says “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. The bible also tells us that we have no clue what God has planned. I’m so incredibly sorry that you think that pessimism is a way to witness to people, especially if you see it as honesty. You should really take the time to read the book “And the band played on” or “The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks.” It’s an easy read, not super dense, and might clarify why I find this post so outrageous.

      • I’m sorry to have offended you so vastly… I’m entitled to my personal opinion no matter how “wrong” it may be…. With maybe 20 views I don’t think I’ve corrupted the billions of ppl in the world with my “stupidity”. I’ll let you give them the facts.
