The Way of the World

Hi,  (Not big on pleasantries as you may have noticed, lol)

Today I’m thinking this can’t be what God created the world to be.  But first,

I’d like to introduce a new “Question of the Day” segment compliments of my Twin @MissJett84  twitter action.  You may have noticed the Twitter widget over there ——>     I’ll review the Question of the Day during track talk, but you can also participate live via twitter just follow me or my twin,  i’m @iamDjTj

Question of the Day:

What do you feel is the reason that most bf/gf relationships don’t last after the couple has a child?

-One person says “I believe it responsibility and compassion… w/o either one or the other can even make Stevie Wonder say “Where are my shades”

I say the fact that they were bf/gf when they had the child.  There was no real promise of commitment to begin.

What do you think?     Lightning bolt!    Just found a use for that random tab at the top of the page… :)     If you look now you’ll see the new Question of the day tab….  Click there now to answer today’s question.

So back to what I was saying.

Go To Bed,  I just found out I can play music too… shouldn’t have told me that,  Go ahead and push play.

Ok, God created the world we live in right?  Was there some type of agreement somewhere I don’t know about that says 1% of the population gets to chill and enjoy this world and the rest of us have to work our asses off just to stay afloat.  Especially when there is an abundance of resources.  Like seriously, we’re not gonna run out, EVER…

Some things just don’t make sense,  yes I will list these things….

Energy

We have to pay for energy.  Lights, oil, gas etc.  that type of stuff.   Um, ok?  Can someone tell me who owned a Dinosaur?

I’ll wait….

I believe that’s where we get fossil fuel from right?   Maybe they own the machines and stuff, but I never said I wanted to use a non renewable source of energy in the first place.  Who’s bright idea was that?  So nobody in the room was like, “hey guys at some point we’re probably gonna run out of oil”?  Bunch of idiots if you ask me…    Did you know:  The sun provides all the energy we would ever need EVER, and it rises and sets everyday like clockwork.   Why not come up with use for that in the first place… OH forgot, it’s FREE and you can’t make a profit from it.

Food/Water

So yea, we really buy stuff that other people grow themselves.  Lazy!   As for water,  you know what I’m not even gonna waste white space with that one.

Money

If the other two weren’t dumb, this has to be the dumbest.  Ok I’ll give you this piece of paper with a dead guy’s picture on it for these items which you’ve assessed a value to.  Oh by the way that piece of paper is worthless.  Try going cash it in for Gold and see what happens.  (oops slipped out)    But yea, remember when the teacher told you to do your homework?  That’s probably the best piece of advice he/she could give you.  Why else is there a growing deficit?  Can you say interest fees?

Hey, That’s the way of the world though….

I just know God didn’t intend for it to be like this.  Maybe I should blame Adam and Eve, but then again…. nah u know what, Not gonna even say my next comment.

Ok let’s just say Sir Francis Bacon had some involvement with the KJV of the Bible….  I’ll leave it at that.   (Who’s that guy?  Homework ppl)

Here’s a letter to send you your local Billionaire:

Dear Billionaire,

Please send me .1 of a percent of your net worth and I can retire myself and a whole lot of people tomorrow.

K, Bye

That’s a wrap

Oh, don’t forget… Question of the day.  Imma make it a two part question.  I’m interested to here what you all are fed up with too.

Security and Identity

Good Day,

My mind is always wandering.  Not just in la la land like usual (lol) but outside of this material world that is presented to us.  The following is an excerpt that I ran across that originates from a site called Destee discussion board (credit your sources, lol see school term papers were helpful).  This conversation between a man and women questions the overall needs of the Black female.  Is security really all what it boils down to?  Secondly, it also suggests the lack of identity of the Black race.  Who are we really?  Black? African American? Colored? Negro? Moorish American?  In the words of Muhammed Ali, Russians are from Russia, Indians from India, Chinese from China, Australians from Australia and so on…  but we’re just Black?  (by the way, not all Blacks come from Africa…) Malcolm X said it best, we’ve been hoodwinked and bamboozled.

I digress

Read the following except and think about whether or not our lack of identity as a race causes the break down in the security aspect of relationships, which in turn hinders our collectiveness as a group.

{ A Sistah walks into a juice bar. Five foot four. Dark chocolate milky skin. Slanted eyes, long eyelashes, lips slightly brushed in peach and brown.
The Men marvel at her shapely body. The African prints on her soft golden dress. Her head neatly decorated in small twists and braids. She sits down at the bar. She orders some kind of smoothie with bananas and grapes.

A Brotha gets up the nerve. He gets up from his chair, dusts himself off, and combs his beard violently with his right hand. He sits next to the Sistah. He summons all the intelligence he has within him. He is man of respect and pride. He opens his mouth to speak, but she interrupts him.

“Security and Identity” she says. The Brotha looks around puzzled. “What did you mean, by that?” She goes on to explain.

“What a Black Nation wants and needs, is what a Black Woman wants and needs. Because without us, there is no Black Nation. We produce the children, we raise them, we make sure they survive.”

“In this stage in my life, I’ve figured the two most important things for me is Security and Identity. I’ve also notice that these two things are exactly what most Nations on Earth want as well. Think about it Brotha.”

“Why are we here in America? Security. Ask any Woman what she wants from a Man, and it will boil down to Security. She might say, ohh- I want a tall strong Man. I am a Handsome Man. I want a Man with some Money. I want a Man who can make me smile make me laugh. I want a religious Man of God a spiritual Man.”

“All of these things have to do with Security. We all know the strong tall Man gives us the feeling that we are protected. The Handsome Man makes us feel protected because he is a cosmetic commodity. A Man with Money of course can create our Security because he can handle our basic survival needs. A Man that has a good sense of humor is also a Security system because he inspires peace in others. He brings laughter and happiness which makes people less threatening, the less threatening people are the more secure we feel. A spiritual Man helps us feel protected too. Because even if he is not right with the world, he is right with God and we feel connected to a higher power protecting us through this Man.”

“Everything is about Security. The skin is our Security. Our education is about Security. Black Parents will tell their child, I want you to go to the best College- is it just for a good education? No. Its for Security. They feel their child’s future will be Secure if they gradate from a good school. There is no survival without Security.”

“The problem with most Black folks, is that we’ve been trying so hard to survive, and we don’t have anything concrete to concentrate our minds on. You snatch up any Brotha on the streets hustlin’ and ask him what he’s doing, most likely he’ll say “I’m trying to survive out here!” Ask him how, and he might not have any idea beyond “trying to get this paper!”

“But ask a Woman what she needs to raise a family. That’s where we should be looking. That’s where all the answers are. Black people don’t seem to understand that. The White Man enslaved our Ancestors because he was looking for ways to get the needs of his Woman met without doing most of the work. Are Black Men talking to their Women? Are they asking the Woman, hey baby- what do you need for the Black Nation to grow?”

“Naw, most Black Men are too busy trying to imitate White Men intellectually and socially. The White Man treats his Woman like a prostitute. Now the Black Man treats his Woman like a prostitute. The White Man authors lies to deceive people. Now Black Men are authoring lies to deceive people.”

“I want Security and I want Identity. We have no Identity. We don’t know who the hell we are! This is why it is so easy for us to emulate White people. We have no idea who we are. Don’t we realize how important having an identity is to any race or culture? And I’m not just talking about names, colored, black, African- no. I’m not talking about names, because anyone can come up with a name and give it to some folks.”

“If a Woman says to a Man, I want Security and Identity. What does that mean? It means she wants security for her family- right? Sistah might want to raise some children with this Brotha. And it also means she was an identity for her children too. For me, these two are the most important parts of survival, you know why? There is no power without them. You can’t have power without security. How can you have diamonds if anyone can just come in and take them? And how can you have diamonds secured, if your guards don’t know what diamonds are??”

“Give that same hustlin Brotha on the street a bag of diamonds, he will kill folks to protect it- you hear me? I mean, he will take some lives to guard over those diamonds. But give him a little girl. Give him a baby. What happens then? No think about that Brotha for a second, think about.”

“Give that saaameee Brotha, who will kill over some diamonds, a child. Does he kill to protect her? Does he protect his own seed? No. And why does he not protect his child? Because he does not “IDENTIFY” with the child, the same way he identifies with the diamonds. He can come up with a bag of diamonds, but he can’t come up with a child- a child is a burden to him.”

“But identity is crucial to that Brotha on the streets. What if he can’t identify the cops? Then his own Security is compromised. You see how that works. They want us to identify with what we see on tv and what we see in magazines. So yeah, you have the women with the buttcheeks hangin out. Because they think that’s who they are. But that’s not who they are, that’s what they saw on tv or in a magazine, so that is what they identify with.”

” I know, A Black Woman can’t help being sexy, in most cases- but Men have to realize that feminine beauty is created by nature for reproduction purposes. If we don’t have Security and Identity for our Black People, then- why the hell are we reproducing? We only making more slaves. Men are out there screwing anything that walks, only making more slaves.”

“That is not the case with all Men, but you know who I am talkin about. You can see how this is a collective problem, the fault is not on Men alone or Women alone, it is what it is a collective problem. Its something we have to fix and address collectively. We have an Security problem and an Identity problem.”

“And I know, you have some people who will say..naw naw, that’s not what is it- its this, or its that. But regardless of what we think it is, we are not doing much of anything to fix it, are we? Maybe on our individual levels, but we can’t solve collective problems individually.”

“Ask any smart and intelligent Black Woman, who is honest with herself, what does she really want for her children. Just ask her. And use your common sense and translate that information into what the Black Nation needs. That’s all. Any smart person can do that. But can we really do it. Can we implement these solutions?”

She took the last sip of her smoothie, and walked away. The Brotha sat there, in a daze, but thinking to himself about the bag of diamonds. “Security and Identity? What I need is to hit the lottery…that’s one fine Sistah” He thought to himself. }

Did he even get it?

Race Relations

Hi folks,

Today I’m going to clear up a few things when it comes to race. (From my viewpoint anyways)

To me, the idea of race and culture have been wrapped up into one.  However, I feel that these are two totally separate things.  First let’s define the two:  We’ll use our friends at dictionary.com to define the two.

Race: a group of persons related by common descent or heredity.

Culture: the total of the inherited ideas, beliefs, values, and knowledge, which constitute                     the shared basis of social action.

Okay.  As you can see, culture can easily be viewed as the result of race.  However, all too often we tend to attach specific cultures to race.  For example  Hip-Hop/Rap is associated with Blacks and Country Music associated with Whites.  True enough these are the  predominate races in these cultures but blending these two ideas together can cause a lot of unnecessary grief.

Let’s look at two families…  (I will use the terms Black and White vs. African-American and Caucasian.   Side Note:  Ever notice the word Asian in CaucAsian?  Type of Asian perhaps… )

One is a black family that lives in a predominately white neighborhood and the other is a white family that lives in a predominately black neighborhood.

Now lets take their kids for example……….  wait a minute,

See you’ve probably already attached certain cultures to the kids of these families and all I’ve described to you was the Race of the neighborhood.

The white neighborhood is actually in the heart of the city and is heavily influenced by the hip-hop and rap culture.  The black neighborhood is located on the outskirts of the city and is influenced by the culture of farming and cattle raising.

Paints a pretty different picture doesn’t it?

So what’s my point?

Let’s take one of the kids from the black family, I’ll name him James.  He’s starting High School and attending a school in the city for the first time.  The predominate culture of the kids at this school is Hip-Hop.  The school has an even mix of races, however all of the Black students identify with the hip-hop culture.  Because of the culture James was raised in he doesn’t fit right in with those of his race.  The Black students in turn view James as “White” or not “Black” enough.

James is just as Black as any other student in that school.  His culture should not be the determining factor of his race.  We as a society need to cut this out.  Stop defining our races with one specific culture and realize that we can have one race with a multitude of cultures and also one culture with a multitude of races.  This would surely cure some of the racial stereotypes and convert them to cultural ones, which is really what they are.  If we can somehow accomplish this, then instead of race being identified with culture, maybe culture will start to be identified by race…..

Human Race that is ;)

That’s a wrap!

Track Talk: Random Thoughts

Hello,

Let’s pick my brain for a minute.

I just got this cool little lighting kit set up and the little backdrops to go with it.  You may have seen the video of me in front of the green screen.  Soon as I figure out how to light it properly look out!  Lol.  For now just work with me.

I had some Wendy’s earlier today and I passed another restaurant that I visited the previous day.  I was reminded of the poor experience I encountered.  So first of all, I wanted a side of fries, but was informed that they were out of fries and coleslaw.  Ok fine, I’ll do mashed potatoes no biggie.  Then I had to pull off to the side because there was an extended wait time for my food.   Cool not sweating it.  Meanwhile another customer decides to make a big commotion at the drive thru window about the lack of french fries.  Another employee who appeared to be on break and having a cigarette proceeds to scream across the parking lot in an argument with the driver.  They continue back and forth until she then re enters the restaurant (cigarette in hand still) and goes to the drive thru window and continues the argument.

At this point I’m like “um just cancel my order”, but I’d already paid.  Why?

What’s with the lack of class and professionalism when it comes to fast food restaurant employees.  I’m starting to notice this type of behavior all to often.  When did this become a standard?  Yes the job itself is considered to be of a lower level, but that does not excuse “common” behavior.  For many these jobs have become careers, well at least that’s how it seems anyway.  Where have we dropped the ball?  All of us patronize these fast food chains. The mindset should be that this job is a step towards a higher goal and should not be considered the top of the ladder.   To me that has to be the mindset of many, that this is it.  That’s the only explanation I see for not caring.

Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s harder out here for a lot of people.  However, if you’re in a mindset that you won’t or can’t make it better then you never will.  It also falls on those of us that are better off.  Too many of us accept mediocrity.  If more people just stopped accepting and started correcting it would do wonders!

So stop accepting and start correcting.

P.S.  That doesn’t mean curse somebody out for being rude,  lol

Black Women Less Attractive? Not

So there’s a lot of buzz in the blog world about a recent “study” done by Satoshi Kanazawa which claims that after careful research results show that Black Women are the least attractive race of women.

SMDH

As a graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology I am shocked that this type of publishing was even allowed.  The article, blog, or whatever you’d like to call it, was posted on Psychology Today’s website.  I guess they don’t proofread the “factual” information they post before posting it as such.

The “study” basically answers different “scientific” questions and gives the results.  These results obviously rate black women very low.   Furthermore, Kanazawa goes on to say that the only logical explanation for his findings is that the testosterone levels in black women are higher.

Really dude?

Go ahead and Click Here to view the “study” in it’s entirety.   I will comment further on this in the 1st video edition of Track Talk, which can be found in the videos tab above or on my youtube channel here.

The Ultimate G

Good day Folks,

Today I’m going to tell you about the Ultimate G.

The Ultimate G is one like no other.  He answers to no one, but all must answer to him.  Whatever he wants he makes it himself.  Don’t try to get over on him because he has eyes everywhere.  He takes care of his family and all of his children.  He has many haters and many deny his status.  He maintains order and punishes those who are deserving.  He doesn’t give hand outs, but is very willing to show you the way.  He will protect those who are defenseless and provide for those who are unable.  Those who are wise play by his rules.  For He is God, The Ultimate G.

Just think for a moment…

I don’t care how big and bad you think you are, or how rough and tough you act.  You will never be greater than God, the Ultimate G.  I can’t even put how far from Him you are into words.  Scientist have not measured a unit of distance for me to even calculate this.  Just start counting and don’t stop.  Whenever you get to the end let me know….  (might be a while).

So instead of projecting a negative image which puts you even further from God than you already are.  How about using your skills and talent to promote positive things.  Positive moves closer to God.  Rest assured the positive feedback and respect is far more genuine than the feedback received from the negative image.

If you’re reading this and you on the positive side of things, take this message and translate it others.  Especially those of our youth that are constantly faced with the choice between Good and Evil.   Nowadays Evil is considered the norm and those who are good are weird.  “Goodie two shoes”   How backwards is that?  It’s hard for 1 person to take a stand alone against a large group.  We must all stand up together and support each other.  I cannot continue to sit here and watch Evil take over.  We need to take corrective action.  Make it unacceptable, and if you only influence one person you’ve helped a dozen.  Misery loves company, but Happiness draws all.

Track Talk: Dig Deeper

Good Morning All,

Welcome back “Trekkers”

Sorry I took a little vacation since Easter.  What can I say?  It’s the life of a CEO,  always on the go ;)

Well today we have a cool start.   Seriously it’s 66 degrees outside and the high is only 71.  Talk about hot and cold…

Message of the Day:  Dig Deeper

Remember this as you work at accomplishing your dreams today.  You already have all the things you need.  If it seems like all hope is lost, take a step back and dig a little deeper.  The key to unlock that door is right under your nose.

Think about the Princess and the Frog, to break the spell, the key was to kiss a princess.  If they had looked at the situation deeper they would have realized that all they needed to do was get married.  Instead they took the harder route and sought out another princess when they already had everything they needed.

Track Talk Trivia:

Who invented the “scratch” which is now a common part of DJ’ing?

Come back tomorrow for the answer :)

Leave your answer in the comments…

That’s a wrap,
